Metro Pacific Health Corporation (MPH), the country’s largest private hospital group, expanded its network to 31 hospitals through its acquisition of First United 23, Inc (“FU23”) which owns and operates United Doctors of St. Camillus de Lellis Hospital and Medical Center (“UDCMC”) and United Doctors of St. Camillus de Lellis Mabini General Hospital (“UDCMGH”) on June 30, 2026.
GIV Capital served as the Sellers’ Advisor and Arranger of the transaction involving the sale of two hospitals together, which marks the strategic entry of MPH into Batangas Province. As of June 2026, UDCMC in Batangas City is the only hospital in the province that is Acute Stroke Ready, operates a fully functional Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, and offers Nuclear Medicine services. UDCMGH, on the other hand, is the only private hospital serving the Municipality of Mabini. FU23 was founded in 2010 by 22 physicians and 1 businessman. “From the beginning, our vision as Founders was to build a hospital that would challenge the status quo and provide quality, advanced, and compassionate healthcare to the Batangas community,” said Dr. Ferdinand Moraleja, former President and one of the hospital’s founding members. “We are proud of what our hospitals have achieved and the strong foundation built by our Founders, doctors, employees, and shareholders. This partnership with MPH allows us to build on that foundation and bring our hospitals to even greater heights”.
